Mount Mulanje is situated in Malawi. Mount Mulanje is known for being the highest mountain in south-central Africa, as well as one of the world’s largest granite inselbergs – also has some of the best granite climbing in the world.

Mulanje’s peak known as ‘Sapitwa’ is the highest peak in Malawi – at just over 9840 foot, just above the mist that frequently surrounds the upper slopes, giving the mountain one of its local name, ‘Island in the Sky’. From the top of Sapitwa one can view Zomba Mountain and Lake Chilwa.
