Lonely Planet picks Namibia as 2010 Top Value Destination
Each year Lonely Planet picks 10 destinations it believes are the best value for money for that year. In 2010, Namibia makes Lonely Planet’s top value destination list, the only African representative. “Botswana wants big spenders only and South Africa’s not the deal it once was, so southern Africa bargain hunters should head for Namibia” Catering to backpackers with an excellent network of tours, minibusses and 4×4 self-drive travelers you can still get by on less than $50 a day. Of course, if you increase your budget, Namibia responds in kind providing excellent value for money in the mid-range market and some steals in the luxury category.
Lonely Planet’s top 10 best value destinations are:
- Bangladesh
- Nicaragua
- Washington, DC
- Paris
- Namibia
- Philippines
- Argentina
- Naples
- Ukraine
- Syria
