Enjoy the annual Whale Festival in Hermanus
Hermanus Whale festivities
Just an hour and a half car drive away from Cape Townis Hermanus. And every year at the end of September Hermanus is in celebration. It is the Whale Festival!
This Festival celebrates the return of the Southern Right whales. These whales come to mate and calve in the warmer waters of Africa, which gives us people the opportunity to observe and admire these amazing creatures. And Hermanus is one of the best whale watching destinations in the Western Cape.
Whale watching is not the only attraction during the festival. Many events are organized for locals and visiting tourists. All through the festival you can enjoy several events like; art exhibitions, comedy shows, cabaret, galleries, craft markets, food & wine festivals, sport activities and music!
Hermanus is full with people during these few days, the young, the old, nature lovers, party animals, wine fans and more. There’s something for everyone. So, what are you waiting for? Take your friends and family and party with the whales!
