There are very few officials in any of Botswana’s parks. Visitors are expected to look after themselves and obey the rules. Park rules are simple: leave before 11am on your day of departure, don’t drive more than 40km/h, keep to the main tracks and don’t remove any fauna or flora.
You can usually pay your park entrance fees at the gate if you haven’t done so in advance. Day visitors aren’t allowed and you won’t be let in unless you have a campsite booking. There’s usually a wildlife sightings chart at each park gate – great for seeing what’s in the area and where the most productive game drives might be.
