The Cherry Festival
The town of Ficksburg, also known as Cherry Town, celebrates the annual Cherry Festival from 18 to 20 November 2010. It is the oldest crop festival starting in 1967 and now in its 43rd year.
Festive activities include cherry tours, horseback riding, a half marathon, cherry product competitions, veteran vehicle show, a food and wine fiesta, plus a ‘ready, steady, bake’ competition, but the main attraction is the sweet, ruby-red cherries, ripe for the picking.
Every year a Mr. Cherry Chip and a Miss Cherry Blossom are crowned at the Ficksburg Cherry Festival and beautiful day out for the whole family.
Head out to Cherry Town for a cherrylicious day!
