A Relaxing Lunch in Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch is known for its and its culture, restaurants and wineries. It’s no surprise so many people flock to the town for a weekend getaway, a day trip, or for travels from overseas.
Getting a car hire and driving out to Stellenbosch is a great way to explore this fascinating part of our country. The town has a long history and is beautiful with the old oak trees that line the streets.
The area is also popular for sporting activities like Mountain biking, Trail Running, Cycling, Hiking, and countless more.
But where do you go when you want a relaxing lunch in Stellenbosch? Amidst so many choices, it can seem hard to choose! From vineyard restaurants to street cafes, Stellenbosch is packed with good food and new experiences. Here are four of my favourites to check out:
Delaire Graff
This wine estate has some of the best food you will taste in our beautiful country, with fresh ingredients picked from their garden.
The food is fresh and top quality. The views are superb, and the service has been rated as some of the best—definitely a great place to have lunch.
Java Cafe
Suppose you are looking for something a bit more casual. There is just a spot for you in the heart of Stellenbosch. Java Cafe is a cafe on the streets of central Stellenbosch.
With the oak trees surrounding you and the atmosphere around you – this is the best place to spend your lunchtime for a pizza, burger or even a salad.
The Fat Butcher
Do you enjoy steak? A perfectly cooked piece of beef that melts in your mouth, or perhaps you prefer a well-aged sirloin. Either way, the Fat Butcher is the spot for you! With a two week waiting period for reservations, the restaurant is superb.
Overture
On the foothills of the Helderberg mountains, lies the remarkable restaurant – Overture. The chefs draw their inspiration from their mothers’ recipes and their early food memories.
The restaurant serves some exquisite South African cuisine that will transport you to another world! The Restaurant also boasts some stunning views!
Next time you’re in Stellenbosh and hungry, at least you have a few options to choose from. And especially after a day trip with the Adventure shop, you will have worked up an appetite!
