Five Ways to Luxurify Your Budget Hotel Experience

Finding the ideal hotel room can be an expensive exercise. Most travellers planning a road trip or an adventurous holiday opt for lodging at budget hotels and car rental, especially since they don’t stay for long periods of time.

If you’re planning on booking a budget hotel room for your next adventure holiday,  here are five ways you can add luxury to your experience:

Choose the right room

Make sure your sheets, carpets and bathroom are clean. Lodging in a dirty hotel room is the last thing you want to experience on your holiday. Make sure your room is comfortable and secure, before unpacking and settling in. If you’re given the option, choose a room with a balcony.

Pack headphones

If the budget hotel is on the outskirts or in the middle of a busy suburb, make sure you pack a pair of headphones. Nothing is more annoying than not being able to fall asleep, because of rowdy neighbours. Also, coming home from a holiday, in need of another, just to rest is not ideal. Make sure you’re in a space where you can actually rest without any interruptions.

Eats and treats are mandatory

Make sure you pack your favourite snacks for your stay. This may include a bottle of wine too. Nothing like a bit of comfort food to make you feel right at home.

Wifi is non-negotiable

Any lodging facility in the twentieth century should be able to offer a basic internet connection. Make sure the budget hotel you are staying with has wifi before making your booking. A good internet connection always impresses any guest.

Download some movies for your stay

Make sure you pack an external hard drive, USB or laptop with your favourite movies or series. It’s great for passing time or when you’re looking to relax after a long day of exploring.
