Today it’s a leading establishment for the art community of Durban, with regular exhibitions, book launches and events. When visiting Cape Town

Pietermaritzburg, Tatham Art Gallery

This is one of the prime art galleries in South Africa and its origins date back to 1903 when the people of Pietermaritzburg wished for a public art space and proceeded to send paintings to the city of council of the town.  In the year 1990 the gallery moved from the premises of the city hall to where it can be found today.
